Expert Workforce Optimisation for 2026 UK Firms

The UK's economy grew by 0.5% in February, according to data from the Workplace for National Stats (ONS). The figure conveniently beat the agreement projection of just a 0.1% increase, suggesting the economy was in much better health than believed by most economic experts. The reading was based upon information from before the outbreak of war in the Middle East that sent energy costs surging and shook self-confidence across the economy.

Previously this week, the UK saw the most significant cut to its annual growth projection from the IMF amongst sophisticated economies, with the figure now anticipated to be below 1.3% last year to just 0.8%. Another issue is that the reading being so far off forecasts may suggest the figures are being misshaped by seasonality, or other concerns in how the information is looked at.

"Although the survey evidence indicated a velocity in output, no analyst expected the 0.5% month-on-month rise. "On an annual basis, development got from 0.7% to 1.0% as a strong February offseted a frustrating end to 2025. "Sadly, the start of the Iran war on 28 February will stop the upswing in its tracks.
